8, 10 or 12 kW: how to split the first order
Size by the continuous load and the largest motor start on site, not by the PV array. As a starting split for a distributor without sales history: the 10 kW unit is the volume model for homes with heat pumps or EV charging, the 8 kW unit covers standard households and price-led tenders, and the 12 kW unit serves large homes and small commercial sites. Because the series runs up to six units in parallel, installers can also reach higher power with two stocked sizes instead of a special order.
Match the inverter to the battery
An inverter can only deliver what the battery can discharge. The SunoraX SX-HB16 is a 51.2 V, 314 Ah LiFePO4 battery (16.08 kWh) rated for 200 A charge and discharge, which corresponds to about 10 kW of continuous power from one battery. One SX-HB16 therefore suits an 8 or 10 kW inverter; a 12 kW inverter running at full output needs two batteries in parallel. Communication between the SX-HI and the battery runs over CAN or RS485.
