FOLDABLE SOLAR PANEL GUIDE

Foldable Solar Panel Wholesale Guide: 100W vs 200W vs 400W

For a foldable solar panel order, distributors should decide the wattage mix from the power stations the panels will be sold with, not from panel price alone. SunoraX manufactures three sizes, the SX-F100, SX-F200 and SX-F400, and ships them factory-direct in the same container as its power stations.

Which wattage sells with which power station?

A panel is only useful if the power station can accept its voltage and power. Check the MPPT input window of every station you plan to bundle. As examples from the SunoraX range, the SX-P10P accepts up to 500 W of solar on a 12–50 V input, and the SX-P20P accepts up to 1,000 W. One SX-F200 sits comfortably inside both windows; an SX-F400 at 42 V suits the larger stations and halves the number of panels a customer has to carry for the same charging power.

As a rule for the first order: bundle the 200 W panel with 1–2 kWh stations, offer the 400 W panel as the upgrade for 2 kWh and above, and keep the 100 W panel for price-led kits. A connector match alone does not confirm compatibility, so ask for written confirmation of voltage, current and adapter for each pairing.

Foldable, portable and retractable solar panels: what is the difference?

Buyers use the three terms loosely. Foldable solar panels are rigid or semi-rigid cell sections hinged in fabric that fold into a carry case; this is what the SX-F series is. Portable solar panels is the wider category and includes foldable panels and small rigid panels with stands. Retractable solar panels usually describes roll-out or sliding arrays fitted to awnings, vans and boats; they are a fixed installation product rather than a carry-and-deploy accessory. If a customer asks for retractable panels for a camper or a power station, a foldable panel is normally what they need.

What to ask a foldable solar panel manufacturer

  • Cell type and efficiency, with the test report behind the figure.
  • Ingress protection of the panel surface and of the junction box and connectors separately.
  • Output voltage and current at rated power, so you can check them against each power station.
  • Cable and connector set in the box: MC4, adapter leads, cable length.
  • Packaging: carton size, units per carton and drop-test standard, because foldable panels are damaged in transit more often than in use.
  • OEM options: logo print, fabric colour, carry-case branding, minimum quantity per design.
  • Warranty terms in writing, including who pays freight for a replacement.
